FOX has passed on Joe Hill’s (son of Stephen King) TV adaption for his awesome comic book series Locke and Key, but now we’re hearing the SyFy Channel and the CW Network could be interested!  For the unknown – the series was published by IDW and follows Nina Locke, a mother of three who moves her children to the old Keyhouse after the murder of their father (Mark Pellegrino).

Located in the fictitious town of Lovecraft, Massachusetts, the supernatural Keyhouse mansion holds its own magical world of places unknown, hidden behind each door.  Sounds like there’s plenty of meaty plot here and plenty to explore.  So why did FOX pass on the series?  According to network execs the show didnt fit into their schedule and they already filled their line up.

They did however call the Locke and Key pilot “cool,” also stating that the series “holds a lot of talent.”  Playing Nina is actress Miranda Otto wit her brood of children, Jesse McCartney, actress Sarah Bolger, and Skylar Gaertner.  Actor Nick Stahl is also on board as Nina’s brother in law, an art teacher that lives in town who has experience with the old house.

Will it be good enough for the SyFy Channel or the CW?  News around the web is that the CW will most likely pass as well since it doesn’t fit into their demographic – young females between 18-34.  Let’s hope SyFy is interested!  Check out a trailer from IDW below and tell us what you think?
