Blow up Your Video
SOMETHING OLD:
AC/DC
BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO
WARNER BROS.
1988

You should know it has been quite a while since I have listened to this one.

I was going through my collection to try and find something good for this section of this article-and while I know it has been a while since I ripped someone to shreds,I promise I will be doing that in the next section.

OK, so on with the review.

I have this in my tape deck playing right now and the 1st track “HEATSEEKER” is just blistering in its’ fury and intensity. “THAT’S THE WAY I WANNA ROCK AND ROLL” is a ton of fun…really good riffing here. I especially like the call and response bit in the breakdown just before the solo between Malcolm and Angus.

I have to say, AC/DC has never made a bad album.

Come to think of it, I really cannot think of any song in the AC/DC catalog that sucks.

SAMMY HAGAR AND THE WABORITAS
LIVIN’ IT UP
SANCTUARY
2007

This whole fucking CD sucks huge donkey balls. See, I used to like Sammy. I liked him in Montrose, I liked his solo records for the most part. Sammy was cool until 1986. That was the year he joined and there for ruined the once Mighty Van Halen.

His solo stuff since leaving VH is so-so at best.

However this album as far as Sammy solo stuff goes, is his absolute worst ever.

Every damn song on here sound more like a country record. To further that point is the cover of the Toby Keith song
“I LOVE THIS BAR”…..F**KING HORRIBLE!!!

It just get worse from there with a cover of the great bob dylan song “RAINY DAY WOMEN #12&35”.
Most people mistakenly think the name of this song is “EVERYBODY MUST GET STONED”.

I actually bought this piece of f**king rocking horsesh*t. I even had to listen to it in order to write this…Now I want to go puke!

Chi-Lites - 20 Greatest Hits
SOMETHING FROM OUR JURRASSIC PERIOD:
THE CHI-LITES

This group of doo-wop singers is best remembered as a one hit wonder with the song “IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT”.
I am well aware a good number of folks recall the “Boyz II Men” version from the early 1990’s.

I am sure there are a few people that would want to argue the point with me,because a lot of
the folks who only know the 90’s version would swear it is the original…..but that is simply not
true. it came fron the 1950’s and from The Chi-Lites.
