Variety reports that Will Smith and “I Am Legend” made box office history yesterday December 14th, posting a $29.7 million opening day smashing records. It was the second largest opening for Warner Brothers Studios, second only to “Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix, which took $44.2 million on its opening day. It is predicted that “I Am Legend” will be this weekends smash hit, with “Alvin and the Chipmunks” trailing in at 13.3 million.
