Femme 5 Biography: Our group is originally all from the west suburbs of Chicago, IL. Our age range is from 18-21 years, and we all just moved out to Los Angeles within the last year. Kara and Elise competed with Xtreme Dance Force in Naperville for the first 4 years of the company’s existence. Lauren and Allison competed with Excel Dance Productions for 5 years and Gabby competed with Sole Unique Dance Company for 2 years. Our 3 companies all competed against each other within the competition circuit, which is how we began to recognize each other. Later, Allison, Gabby and Lauren joined Dance 2XS Chicago, which closely worked with Xtreme Dance Force, and this is what brought us even closer.
We all relocated to Los Angeles to pursue our dream of becoming professional dancers, and surprisingly enough we all ended up living within 2 blocks of each other in Sherman Oaks. We see each other on a daily basis in dance classes and rehearsals. Lee Daniel has worked closely with each of our crew members in our past, and brought us all together as the crew “Femme5”. “Femme5” suits us perfectly – it represents our feminine look, style and demeanor.
We are excited to be a part if the show and hope to prove to America that although we may be different and don’t fit the typical “hop-hip” stereotype, we deserve to be here just as much.
