Los Angeles, CA (January 29, 2008) – On the heels of the announcement of the nominees for the 80th annual Academy Awards, ReelzChannel, the only cable/satellite network dedicated to “Everything About Movies, 24/7,” will present a robust schedule of seven original television specials leading up to and on the night of Hollywood’s biggest, most star-studded celebration. The specials will help movie fans to follow their favorite movies and stars through all the developments of the hectic awards season, and will provide a deeper and more complete look at the competitions in the key Academy Awards categories.

The series of specials kicks off with the half-hour “ReelzChannel Special Feature: Best Supporting Actor and Actress,” Friday, February 1, (8:30pm ET/ 5:30pm PT), and concludes with the half-hour “Dailies” live, post-Academy Awards special “And the Winners Were…,” Sunday, February 24, immediately following the Oscar telecast.

Immediately following the global telecast of the 80th Annual Academy Awards, Mike Richards, host of ReelzChannel’s daily movie news and information show, “Dailies,” will host a live, half-hour, post-event special.
