HBO released another brand new poster from their upcoming series “True Blood” by directors Alan Ball and Michael Lehmann and starring Rutina Wesley, Jim Parrack ( CSI: Crime Scene Investigation ), Anna Paquin ( Trick ‘r Treat ) and Stephen Moyer. Designed like a public service announcement, the caption reads “Vampires are Immortal”.

Synopsis: Alan Ball, creator of Six Feet Under, returns to HBO with a new series based on the novel series Southern Vampire by Charlaine Harris. The series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic barmaid who finds comfort in the company of vampires since they have no brainwave activity for her to read. She and her brother Jason were raised by her grandmother after losing their parents in a flood and she tries to keep her telepathic ability a secret. Thanks largely in part to the creation of a Japanese-made synthetic blood called True Blood (where the series takes it name) vampires have make their existence known to the world. Sookie works at the bar ‘Merlotte’s’ which is owned and operated by her boss Sam Merlotte who has a secret of his own.

  1. I’ve read all the Sookie Stackhouse books from Charlaine Harris & love them. Am really looking forward to the new series !. Anna Paquin is an excellent choice toplay Sookie & so is Alex Skarsgard to play Eric Northman…..I think this will be a great show!

  2. It made me think of heroes as well(the first season), but I thought they did a great job with the characters; meaning everyone they chose for the roles have great chemistry together, as well as playing their parts delightfully. Plus there is always a little bit of ‘cheesyness’ in vampire book/films, and I really like this series. I can’t wait to see the next episode!
