Despite reports giving confirmation of its production, Diary of the Dead 2 has not started shooting. However, Bloody-Disgusting.com learned that George A. Romero is giving the go-ahead and will pick up the camera again for another zombie flick on September 15th, 2008 in Toronto, Canada. Casting has yet to be revealed.

Diary of the Dead 2 continues with the survivors, trapped in the mansion where the last film concluded, going head-to-head with flesh-eating zombies, literally putting their lives in their own hands. In search of a safe place to use as shelter, they hijack an empty ferry boat and sail to a deserted island, only to find that it is, of course, populated by a mass of the living dead.

Conveyed in the same first-person style Diary of the Dead used, the second installment of the series is a terrifying voyage set in the middle of nowhere, a desperate struggle for survival, tranquility and resolution, between the living and the living dead.

The untitled Diary of the Dead 2 project will be Romero’s sixth chapter in his famous Dead horror franchise, following Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead and Diary of the Dead.

  1. The Texan (supposedly), and a very small handful of people: the professor, the main girl and another character (who I can’t remember)
