Manga Entertainment Releases Strait Jacket

On October 7th Manga Entertainment, the Anime company that brought Anime classics like Ninja Scroll, Ghost In The Shell, and Crying Freeman, to the US, is proud to introduce the mix of horror, magic, and hi-tech in the OVA Strait Jacket, created by Ichoro Sakaki, the mind behind Scrapped Princess.

Strait Jacket is the story of a world where magic and its abuse are everywhere. Those who take the risks of using magic untrained transform into terrible demons, and only the “tactical sorcerers” known as the Strait Jackets and their bosses at the Sorcery Management Bureau are willing to take the risks to face and defeat them. But even the Strait Jackets aren’t enough when a terrorist attack lets loose a horde of demons upon the world and the Bureau must enlist the aid of Leiot Steinberg, a dangerous untrained assassin. But will she be able to make a difference when it comes down to it and the Strait Jackets face not only the horde but also their own dark pasts?

Strait Jacket, a hit when it aired in Japan earlier in 2008, is directed by first-timer Shinji Ushiro and the English voice cast includes anime all-stars Crispin Freeman (Hellsing, Witch Hunter Robin, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex) and Kari Wahlgreen (Steamboy, Naruto, Scrapped Princess).
