Cinematical got their hands on this brand new movie poster, for the much-anticipated 2009 “Land Of The Lost” film, starring Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, Anna Friel and Jorma Taccone, and directed by Brad Silberling.
Based on the classic television series by Sid and Marty Krofft that has since gone on to become a cult classic, “Land of the Lost” is about a washed-up scientist, his research assistant, and a “redneck survivalist”, who end up transported into another world where ancient dinosaurs, cavemen, and mysterious reptile men known as Sleestak, rule, and the protagonists must find a way back to the regular world.
“Land Of The Lost” was initially a children’s TV created and produced by Sid and Marty Krofft, and originally ran on NBC. It was about a father and his two children who end up stranded in a mysterious alternate world that appeared similar to prehistoric Earth, and their struggles to survive, explore the mysteries of the land, and try to find a way home.
Available on DVD, it has since gone onto become a cult classic to its fandom, and was known for its surprisingly dark tone and then-cutting special effects. Krofft Productions remade the series in 1991.
“Land Of The Lost” hits theaters on June 5, 2009.
