Photographer Ollie Upton has posted some photos from the upcoming “The Descent: Part 2”, the sequel to the sleeper hit “The Descent”, the 2005 British horror film directed by Neil Marshall, about a group of women who are trapped underground while exploring a cave and are confronted by an underground colony of cannibalistic sub-humans. You can check them out at io9.com or at his site right here. There are some new looks at the crawlers as well as the human protagonists in this literally underground horror.
The film, directed by Jon Harris, picks up right where the first one ends with a rescue party entering the underground world, the crawling denizens of this lightless world once again moving in after a cave-in traps the party in the same lightless world where the party in the first film were.
“The Descent 2” stars Shauna MacDonald, Natalie Mendoza, Gavan O’Herlihy, and Axelle Carolyn. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in the UK on May 15th 2009, though there is no official word on a release date for the United States.
