Wired.com’s Underwire blog has exclusive images and concept art from the upcoming latest installment of the legendary Terminator franchise, “Terminator Salvation”. You can check them out here.

“Terminator Salvation”, directed by McG and starring Christian Bale as John Connor, leader of the human resistance against Skynet and the sentient machines that have attempted to conquer Earth and destroy humanity, is described by McG as “a bit of a sequel and a prequel”.

The film takes place in the early days of the war against the machines that has been described in the previeous 3 Terminator films, starting with 1984’s “The Terminator” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Michael Biehn.

The film’s official plot premise reads, according to Warner Bros;

“Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor (Christian Bale), the man fated to be the leader of the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators, and the future he was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they find out a terrible secret that may lead to the possible annihilation of mankind.”

“Terminator Salvation” hits theaters May 22nd, 2009.

  1. Personally I think that Michael Biehn should have been put in the role of John Connor because in the original Terminator movie he’s John’s father. If he were in the role of John Connor, it would basically tell the audience that “hey, John looks just like his father”. And if were possible, maybe one of Michael Biehn’s older sons could have played the role of Kyle Reese because, again, in the original Terminator, Kyle was 25.
