Check out the first of three exclusive TV clips from the upcoming X-Men prequel film “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, starring Hugh Laurie and Liev Schreiber.

Set years before the first original X-Men film, the movie documents the tragic past of the X-Man known as Wolverine, from his mysterious childhood and his transformation from Logan into the clawed killing machine known as Wolverine at the hands of the mysterious Weapon X program. The movie also features Schreiber as Victor Creed, aka Sabretooth, Wolverine’s longtime nemesis, and Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, an assassin from Weapon X with a warped sense of humor and a healing power like Logan’s.

First appearing in 1974 in the pages of “The Incredible Hulk”, Wolverine is one of Marvel Comics’ mainstay characters and a longtime member of the company’s title groups the X-Men. A Canadian mutant and reknowned anti-hero who has been alive since the 19th century, he has feral traits, a superhuman healing power, and retractable bone claws, which along with his skeleton are coated with an indestructible metal called adamantium, which he received when a part of the superhuman project known as Weapon X.

“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” is in theaters May 1st, 2009.
