“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” tells the tale of the future X-Man Logan, with metal claws and bones and a superhuman healing factor. The film will detail his mysterious early life, his loves, and his past with the supersoldier program Weapon X, who were responsible for giving him his unbreakable skeleton and claws, as well as altering his memories.

Debuting in 1974, Wolverine has become one of Marvel Comics’ most well-known characters, and arguably set the standard for the still-popular “anti-hero” comic book character model in post-Vietnam America.

Opening May 1st 2009, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” stars Hugh Jackman as the titular hero, Liev Schreiber as the similarly-feral mutant Sabretooth, Ryan Reynolds as the sword-weilding jokester Deadpool, Taylor Kitsch as the card-wiedling Gambit, Will.i.am as the teleporter Kestrel, Danny Huston as Weapon X commander Colonel Stryker, Dominic Monaghan as the electric mutant Barnell Bohusk, Daniel Henney as Agent Zero, and Lynn Collins as Silver Fox, and Kevin Durand as the superfat Blob. The film is directed by Gavin Hood.
