Chuck the Movie Guy recently sat down with Tyler Perry and talked about the upcoming film “Madea Goes to Jail” by director Tyler Perry and starring Vanessa Ferlito (Death Proof, Nothing Like the Holidays), Keshia Knight Pulliam (House of Payne), Sofia Vergara (Dirty Sexy Money) and Tyler Perry as Madea.

Synopsis: After a high-speed car chase, Madea (Tyler Perry) winds up behind bars because her quick temper gets the best of her. 1. Tyler Perry is a joke of a filmmaker. A man who’s understanding of drama is limited to vulgar melodrama and exploitive situations. He writes down characters to the point of a minstrel show. Often stock characters plucked from screen writing 101 and then crudely colored with magic markers. The problem with his comedy/drama is it’s so horridly mismatched. Essentially, it’d be like watching a whipping scene in “Roots” and then turning the channel to the “Nutty Professor” where they’re gleefully farting around the table. You’d feel uneasy if that were in a movie.
But then again, oh well, I’m not the target audience. No, Perry makes money cause he plugs in a “strong Christian undertone” which his fan base eats up faster then communion wafers. However that message is in the confines of terrible films.
