According to a report from the LA Times, Summit’s production president Erik Feig shot down all reports of The Orphanage director Juan Antonio Bayona being set to direct the third Twilight movie, Eclipse.

Feig says, “The Eclipse directing job hasn’t been offered to Juan Antonio or anyone else. We’ve met with three or four talented filmmakers and we’ll be meeting with three or four more other candidates before we make any decision. No one has been offered the job.”

Earlier in the week, several production trades published that Bayona had the job.

Bayona is a protege of Guillermo Del Toro, who produced Bayona’s Spanish-language horror/thriller The Orphanage.

Bayona is set to helm the Universal Pictures thriller Hater, with Del Toro and Mark Johnson producing.

Eclipse recently got a release date of June 30th, 2010 with its second installment, New Moon, directed by The Golden Compass and About a Boy director Chris Weitz, opening on November 20th, 2009.
