Actor Justin Chatwick has confirmed to MTV news that in fact, a second live-action Dragonball script is already in the can, with the first live-action Dragonball movie not even in theaters yet.

“I know they’ve written a second one and it’s pretty far out there” he recently told MTV Splashpage when discussing the upcoming action/martial arts/fantasy flick.

The film’s synopsis reads:

“A young boy named Goku (Justin Chatwin) sets out upon his grandfather’s dying request to find the great Master Roshi and gather all seven Dragon Balls (of which he has one) in order to prevent Piccolo from succeeding in his desire to use the Dragon Balls to take over the world.”

The film, in development since 2002, is a live-action adaptation of the much-beloved manga and anime by Akira Toriyama, the “god of manga”. It tells the story of a young boy with a tail named Goku who, along with his friends, travels the world, learning martial arts, and gathering the seven Dragon Balls, gems that can summon a powerful wish-granting dragon named Shenron.

“Dragonball Evolution” will be released in the United States on April 10th, 2009.
