“Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World” is based on “Scott Pilgrim” created by Bryan Lee O’Malley in 2004. The eponymous character, a bassist in a local band and slacker extraordinaire, must battle, in high-flying and borderline ridiculous kung-fu combat, the seven evil ex-boyfriends of the love of his life, Ramona Flowers, in order to actually date her. The book has become known and garnered much acclaim for its mixture of martial-arts action, comedy, and romance.
The film stars Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Brandon Routh, Chris Evans, Aubrey Plaza, Kieran Culkin, Brie Larson, Mae Whitman, Ellen Wong, Anna Kendrick, Alison Pill, and Mark Webber, Alison Pill. Wright has been posting set pictures at his blog, which you can see here.
Wright is directing the film, which has no set release date yet.
