Row3.com has an exclusive look at the new poster for the upcoming film “District 9”, a documentary-style look at just how aliens, or “Non-Humans”, would be treated if they came and lived on Earth. You can see the poster below.

“District 9” is based on Alive in Joburg, a short film directed by Neill Blomkamp, Sharlto Copley, Simon Hansen and Shanon Worley, which was a faux-documentary film about a South African slum that was housing for an alien race living on Earth, and the various policies enacted against them, along with interviews with various “civilians” and “government officials” and how they feel on the situation.

“District 9” is in theaters in the US August 14th, 2009.

  1. Excellent. It was a refreshing approach to aliens, funny at times and sad to see what happens when tables turn on the main character as he changes into a prawn (an alien).

Its over 2 hours and you never get bored in the movie. It is refreshing the movie is set in South Africa instead of New York or London like in many block buster movies.
