Heathcliff, thanks to a new joint venture between FitzRoy Media and cartoon studio Magic Lantern,will be coming to life on the big screen sometime in the near-future.
The two companies have partnered to develop a range of properties, including an animated or a combination CGI/live action film, around the character, created in 1973 by George Gatley. “Heathcliff” still remains in print, done by Peter Gallagher, Gatley’s nephew.
Heathcliff has previously been the star of two early-’80s animated shows, and the FitzRoy and Magic Lantern partnership are considering a return to TV as well, according to Variety.
