Ed McMahon, who was best remembered as announcer and sidekick for “The Tonight Show” host Johnny Carson for over 30 years, as well as the face of Publisher’s Clearing House, died today at the age of 86, according to his spokesman.

The veteran TV personality was known for his nightly introduction of TV host Johnny Carson with his signature “Heeeeeeeeere’s Johnny!” McMahon, who had been battling pneumonia and other illnesses, died at an LA-area hospital.
