  1. I hope this movie ends up being cool. It could be totally lame. I am a big fan of Shyamalan, I even liked his later work.

  2. That is so cool! Do you have any other pictures? I heard there was suppose to be a clip from the movie at Comic-con…?

  3. Of course it’s not gonna look exactly like the cartoon. What I love about it is that M. Night Shyamalan is taking a different twist on the look of the characters. I’m really excited. I think the important thing to note in all this is that he is working with the original creators of the show. Who cares if the characters look different. You can’t always expect the movie to be exactly the same as the tv show. I think the characters look wicked awesome. I think what it’s really going to come down to is if the actors can portray the personality of the characters well, not how they look.

  4. Cool! I really like that. I’m glad they didn’t attempt doing their hair as exactly as it is in the cartoon, and I really love the clothing, despite that it (as my friend got depressed about) isn’t blue. Love Justin’s comment

  5. I agree with Justin, but I just can’t get past the fact that they cast Jackson Rathbone to play Soka. I mean think about it, Jackson Rathbone, Jasper Cullen if you will, playing Soka. Just doesn’t seem right to me.

  6. I don’t think it’s wrong that the actort of Jasper Cullen/Hale ist cast as Sokka.
An actor is defined by playing as many different roles as possible.
I think the problem with films is that you can’t judge actors before watching the certain film. You can have an impression from former works, but an actor develops.
I like both of them. They don’t look exactly as in the cartoon, but they look good.
And I think you should always keep some diffences between books and films or cartoons and films.

  7. …well, i guess they look alright but they’re still white. The original characters are unique because they all have their own unique ethnicity and now they aren’t. They water tribe were dark skinned eskimos and the fire nation were …chinese, maybe? Either way, I’ll still watch but I’m disappointed in Shamalan for the change.

  8. jackson looks super awesome as usual- i’m jus glad they didn’t cut his hair off to look exactly like sokka, cause if they would’ve, i would’ve seriously pissed 4 real.

  9. i wouldnt say i’m unhappy with the cast choice, but i can’t say i am happy…
i wish that katara was just a bit older and possibly an eskimo, or at least indian, and sokka looks to old and serious for the role, and should be of course eskimo as well… but then again, i can’t judge till the movie comes out

  10. We-ell um… these are interesting choices. BUt really? I reckon Katara should at least have olive skin. Dontget me wrong, Jasper is totally cute, Sokka is a comical, funny sort of guy and Jasper is so …serious…

  11. well, I’ll admit I have some problems with the physical aspects of the casting; I really liked that the Water Tribe was based off of Inuit culture and Rathbone and Peltz are certainly not Inuit at all. But I know Rathbone can be a pretty funny guy in real life, so I think he can probably pull Sokka off, though I’ll have to wait and see. Don’t know much about Peltz, so I’ll reserve judgment on her as well for when I see the movie.

As for the costume and set designs, no problem with that at all. I love Shyamalan’s take on the cartoon; it translates nicely to live action. :)

  12. The color of their skin was what made Avatar: The Last Airbender so unique and available to everyone. Casting white characters as the part of colored characters is a bit unfair to me. Those two looking nothing like Katara or Sokka. Katara is also missing here symbolic Southern Water Tribe loop-ies and she should be darker (of course). Also Sokka looks way to serious. Everyone one who knows him knows that he is very funny, sarcastic and avid critical thinker and inventor.

  13. Woah! Hold up.
Where the heck are Katara’s “hair loopies”??
Tsk tsk tsk… Not the water bender without the loops.
And helloooooo Sokka – I shall be your Suki ;)
Anyone know who is playing Toph in the second movie?

  14. I think that they should be at least a bit more darken skinned. Katara and Sokka are supposed to have olive to dark skin and katara’s eyes are supposed to be a piercing blue. I think that Jackson rathbone looks good as sokka but im not to sure about Katara. Avatar is my favourite show so i really hope the movie isnt bad cause that will ruin it. And i agree with the comment above, Katara should have hair loopies?

  15. i think the moviee is going to be greeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i tam a big fan of the avatar tv show and i think this will turn out great inspite of the gossip about not right characters. and guys come on the movie is in july stop having trouble with the characters i know katara and sokka are supposed to be tanned and katara’s eyes are supposed to be blue an d from all those comments i think an hope they will adjust and yes katara’s hair loopies are not that good and i hope ‘sokka’ can hold the character of being extremly fuuny girls to crazy over him because he is cute and i’m exxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxtremly with the pick of character for aang. NOAH RINGER YOU ARE THE BEST

  16. Guys c’mon… I mean, die hard fans should be like OMG OMG OMG YES YES OMG YEAH.

but seriously, I’m stoaked. besides… actors are JUST what they are, ACTORS. just because the guy who played jasper in one movie was serious, doesn’t mean he will be in this one.

thats all i have to say. I’m just frigin’ stoaked for this movie.
