Paul W. S. Anderson and longtime producing partner Jeremy Bolt, the two behind the “Resident Evil” franchise, have picked up the rights to “The Warded Man”, the debut fantasy novel by Peter V. Brett. Anderson is attached to direct and will produce alongside Bolt, with Stephanie Johnson executive producing.
“The Warded Man” is set in an unknown future where humanity is hunted nightly by demonic attacks, forcing society back into a feudal state. The protagonists are three young people who emerge with the potential to fight the demonic forces, with one of them having various spells, or “wards”, tattooed all over his body. The book is the first in a trilogy by Brett called “The Demon Cycle”.
