Disney recently released this new international movie poster featuring Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge in the upcoming film “A Christmas Carol” by director Robert Zemeckis (Beowulf, The Polar Express) and starring Jim Carrey (Ripley’s Believe It or Not!), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight), Colin Firth (The Meat Trade), Robin Wright Penn (The Private Lives of Pippa Lee) and Cary Elwes (Saw).

Synopsis: Charles Dickens’ timeless tale of an old miser who must face Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet-to-Come, as they help to bring kindness to his otherwise cold heart. The Ghosts remind him of the man he used to be, the hard truth of what the world is today, and what will happen if he does not strive to be a better man. Set around Christmas, the most joyous day of the year, Scrooge realizes the sharp contrast of his own personality.
Jim Carrey plays four separate roles in this updated version of A Christmas Carol. Carrey portrays Scrooge, as well as the three ghosts (Past, Present, and Yet-to-Come). His dynamic character roles keep the four characters as diverse as being played by four actors.
Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future trilogy) has his chance to dabble in telling a story through the windows of time, as he directs the long-awaited remake.

Oh, I am 43 now. I have seen so many different versions of the Christmas Carol that I just don’t think I could stomach anymore. I could probably tell the story in my sleep. I had to go through everything again plus all the newer ones as my children grew up. So upgrading won’t do it for me. My husband I can only stand to watch the original film made about 60 years ago-that’s the DVD we own. Sorry Jim! The only way we wanted to go was back in time! Interseting poster though.
I can’t wait for this movie. I disagree with Shelle, I think Jim Carrey will bring something really fantastic to the movie. He was astounding in A Grinch Stole Christmas.
