Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Christoph Waltz (Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds”) has been cast as the villain in “The Green Hornet” from Columbia Pictures, filling in the role that Nicholas Cage was rumored to play but walked away from.
Waltz, who plays a Nazi antagonist in “Basterds”, has been cast as Chudnofsky against Seth Rogen’s Green Hornet in the Sony film, which also stars Cameron Diaz and Jay Chou.
The Michel Gondry-directed adaptation, which is based on the character that premiered in the 1930’s and went on to star in a radio serial, comic strips, and a live-action TV show, is scheduled for a December 17th, 2010 release.
