Natalie Portman has signed on to star in and produce a big-screen adaptation of the bestselling novel “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” by Seth Grahame-Smith.
Lionsgate will finance and distribute the project, which Portman’s handsomecharlie production banner will be producing alongside Darko Films’ Richard Kelly, Sean McKittrick and Ted Hamm.
Quirk Books published the book, which is loosely based on Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice”. Grahame-Smith’s story is about Elizabeth Bennet, who becomes distracted by the handsome Mr. Darcy as she is on a quest to battle a zombie menace.
