Clark Gregg, who plays S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson in “Iron Man” as well as the upcoming “Iron Man 2”, will reprise his role in the upcoming Marvel film “Thor”.
Gregg’s Coulson is an agent of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division, or S.H.I.E.L.D, a government agency dealing with above-average threats that border on the superhuman. Samuel L. Jackson is slated to reprise his role as S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury in a variety of upcoming Marvel films, including “Thor” and “Iron Man 2”. The appearance of Gregg and Jackson is the latest attempt of Marvel tying all their films together in anticipation of the multiple-hero project, the adaptation of the Marvel title “The Avengers”.
“Thor” is slated for a May 6th, 2011 release.
The film, directed by Kenneth Branagh, stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, , Rene Russo, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Tadanobu Asano, Josh Dallas, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Kat Dennings, Stellan Skarsgard and Adriana Barraza.
