Universal Pictures has tapped Sascha Rothchild to adapt and exec produce a film version of her LA Weekly article “How To Get Divorced By 30”.

The article, which Universal acquired the rights to 2 years ago, advised readers to first try out a “starter marriage” before finding a true partner, and offered 15 steps to ending that first marriage. The script will focus on a heroine who road-tests a “starter marriage” but then finds her perceptions and initial plans changed by reality and relationships.

Marc Platt and Dana Fox are producing the project.

Rothchild also turned the piece into a book, titled “How to Get Divorced by 30: My Misguided Attempt at a Starter Marriage,” released in January by Penguin.

No casting or directing news has been announced yet.
