Warner Bros. Pictures is moving forward with developing a big screen adaptation of “Spy Hunter”, the Midway Games’ video game.

Dan Lin (“Sherlock Holmes”) and Roy Lee of Vertigo are producing the project. Chad St. John is set to write the film’s script.

“Spy Hunter” is about a highly-trained government agent who traverses the globe, hunting down rogue spies who are now a threat to the government they used to work for and protect.

Before being acquired by Warner Bros., the rights were held Universal, had John Woo and Paul W.S. Anderson attached to direct at various points, and had Dwayne Johnson slated to star as the eponymous hero.
