New Line/Warner Bros. is moving forward with a reboot/remake of the hit 1980 comedy “Private Benjamin”, which starred Goldie Hawn.

Anna Faris (“Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs”, “Observe And Report”) is slated to star in the newer version.

Amy Talkington is writing the reboot, which Mark Gordon is attached to produce, as a story set in contemporary times with current military conflicts as the background.

The original film starred Goldie Hawn as a spoiled woman who ends up joining the Army after her husband dies during sex on their wedding night. “Private Benjamin” received three Oscar nominations for best actress (Hawn), supporting actress (Eileen Brennan” and for original screenplay.
