Anton Yelchin (“Terminator Salvation” and “Star Trek”) is in talks to play Charley Brewster in DreamWorks Pictures’ remake of the cult 1985 film “Fright Night”.
Craig Gillespie (“Lars and the Real Girl”) is attached do direct the project. Michael De Luca and Alison R. Rosenzweig are producing “Fright Night”, with Lloyd Ivan Miller, Josh Bratman, and Michael Gaeta executive producing.
The original film was written and directed by Tom Holland, and was a horror comedy about a teenager (William Ragsdale) who discovers that one of his neighbors is a vampire. The new version was written by Marti Noxon (“Mad Men”) and is expected to keep the horror-comedy elements of the original.
