New York, NY – April 7, 2010 – MTV announced today that it will world premiere “Armada Latina,” the newest video by legendary hip-hop group Cypress Hill, on Thursday, April 8. “Armada Latina” appears on the group’s highly anticipated new album RISE UP which will be released on Tuesday, April 20 and features guest appearances by Puerto Rican rapper Pitbull, Latin crooner and actor Marc Anthony, System of a Down guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian, Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda and many more. Also, MTV Tr3’s recently announced that Cypress Hill will participate in the upcoming “Rock N’ Gol” special which airs on June 3 at 9pm ET/PT.
MTV will celebrate the release of RISE UP, Cypress Hill’s first studio album in 6 years, by premiering “Armanda Latina” on all of its on-air, online platforms and sister channels, including MTV.com, MTV2, mtvU, MTV Tr3’s, MTV Jams, and MTV Hits. In addition to having access to the video every hour on the hour, viewers will also see exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the video.
The 2-hour “Rock N’ Gol” special will center around four teams of athletes and entertainers (No Se Puede United, AC Pitch Smackers, Locura United and Deportivo Cansados) and will host a surprise musical performance. In addition, soccer fans will have the opportunity to play numerous soccer challenges at the onsite MTV Tr3’s Fu’tbol Village – including Penalty Kick Shootout, The Human Fu’tbol Race, Foosball, and a soccer dunk tank.
