Teresa Palmer (“The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” and “Mad Max: Fury Road”) has signed on to star in “I Am Number Four” for Dreamworks Pictures.

She joins Alex Pettyfer and Sharlto Copley in the cast, based on the young adult science-fiction book of the same name by James Frey and Jobie Hughes. Directed by D.J. Caruso, the story is about a group of Earth-bound alien teenagers who escaped their home planet just before it was destroyed. However, the main teen (played by Pettyfer) soon discovers that he and the rest of their group are still being hunted by the enemy that blew up the home planet.

Michael Bay is producing alongside Steven Spielberg, with Chris Bender, David Valdes, and J.C. Spink onboard as executive producers. Al Gough and Miles Millar wrote the adaptation.

“I Am Number Four” is slated to hit theaters February 18th, 2011.
