It was quite obvious that replacing Lake Bell would be no problem for Wes Craven. In fact, not only did he find a new actress to fill the role of Deputy Judy Hicks, but two other parts as well. As reported by THR, Marley Shelton, Erik Knudsen and Adam Brody have all joined the cast of Scream 4.

Clearly Shelton is the one who’ll fill Bell’s shoes as the deputy who knew Sidney Prescott back in high school. Knudsen’s role is being described as a Randy-esque character, a guy who frequents horror movie connections and will be a source of comic relief. As for Brody, he’s on board to play a recent college grad who joins the police force. His only experience? Watching a lot of CSI.

It looks like Craven went three for three this time around. He can add two more “names” to his list with Shelton and Brody, but is also tapping an up and comer by casting Knudsen. He played the role of Lefty, Nick’s best buddy with a crooked you-know-what, in Youth in Revolt, but he was only in the film for a matter of minutes. He’s also set to appear in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World in August, but again, his presence in that will likely be minimal as well. Could the rebooted Scream franchise be his big break? Perhaps if he survives the first installment.
