The Sucker Punch trailer has arrived and – wow. It’s completely devoid of plot information, but packed with just about everything else. There’s vivid imagery, explosive action and stellar effects all backed by a track guaranteed to get your heart pumping.

Even flipping through this one frame-by-frame won’t give you a clear picture of what Sucker Punch is actually about, so here’s the basic information: It’s the 1950s and Emily Browning is Babydoll. She’s committed to a mental institution by her stepfather and he’s arranged for her to have a lobotomy in five days. She spends her time leading up to the procedure in an alternate reality planning her escape. There the only way she can avoid being defiled by an evil man is by stealing five objects.

I cannot get enough of this one. It’s a little frustrating that we get zero background information and know so little of what’s actually going on here, but perhaps that’s what’s making the intrigue and need for more so intense. We’ve still got a ways to go until March 25th, 2011, but let’s hope it won’t be too long until more material is released.
