Jill Tuck may have started out as a mere memory in Saw III, but ever since, her prominence in the series has increased exponentially. Just as moviegoers have anticipated Jill’s development, so has the actress who actually plays Mrs. Jigsaw, Betsy Russell.

Way back when she signed on the dotted line for Saw III, Russell hadn’t a clue where the writers planned to take her character. Four years later, Jill has turned into a serious force to be reckoned with and, in Saw 3D, will supposedly have an even greater impact on the story, which might have a little something to do with a grudge between her and Mark Hoffman (Costas Mandylor). I doubt he’s ready to forgive her for leaving him for dead in that reverse bear trap back in Saw VI.

While promoting the film at New York Comic Con, Russell weighed in on a number of franchise elements from her favorite Jill moment to life on the Saw set and the family she’s become a part of while making the films. She also touched upon working with the heavy-duty 3D cameras, Cary Elwes’ return, the important message behind Jigsaw’s work and so much more. Check it all out in the video interview below.

  1. Awww sad. Betsy just screams of one of those hollywood actresses who has had surgery done and other things to keep up. So unattractive to not be content with who you are. I wish her hope for truth in her journey. She is talented as an actress and has done a wonderful job in the movies, but I really hope she becomes comfortable with herself without feeling pressure from the business
