James Cameron is trying to get director Louis Leterrier to helm the upcoming ‘Fantastic Voyage’ movie, Cinemablend.com is reporting. The ‘Avatar’ director and writer wants Leterrier in part because his last movie, ‘Clash of the Titans,’ grossed nearly half a billion dollars worldwide, despite receiving poor critical reviews. The news comes after it was revealed that Cameron brought in ‘Shutter Island’ writer Laeta Kalogridis to put the finishing touches on the script of Fox’s new remake.

The production team for ‘Fantastic Voyage,’ which is based on a ride in Disney World’s Epcot park, is trying to start shooting early next year, as Leterrier is currently free. He pasted on directing the ‘Titans’ sequel. It was recently revealed that he is free because despite wanting to helm the upcoming ‘Gravity’ and ‘The Avengers,’ he hasn’t received either job.
