Christian Bale, who is most known for his portrayal of Batman in ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘The Dark Knight,’ won’t commit to a fourth installment in Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed series until the director confirms he’s going ahead with it. The actor, who is reprising his most famous role in ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ which is expected to hit theaters in 2012, said “Until (Chris Nolan) tells me (there will be a ‘Batman 4’), I don’t believe it. It’s gotta be from his mouth.”

The actor also said he’s not even sure yet what ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is even about. Nolan is famous for keeping quiet about his movies’ plots for as long as possible. Bale added that the director-writer “will let me know what I need to know when I need to know it…I think most people would be surprised at how little I do know.” But he also said that Nolan will give him plenty of time to prepare for the role.
