James Cameron, ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ director Andrew Adamson and Reel FX Entertainment will be teaming up with Cirque Du Soleil to create several projects, the first of which will be a 3D movie, Cinemablend.com is reporting. The film will feature “worlds beyond dreams, illusions and imagination, where human beings are capable of anything. Where love rules, and everything our heart yearns for is beautifully, incredibly real.”
The movie is expected to incorporate elements of the Las Vegas Cirque Du Soleil show into a narrative feature. It’s currently in production, and the story was written by Adamson. Cameron will executive produce the project, and will infuse 3D into the story.
Of the movie, Cameron has said working with Cirque Du Soleil has been one of the best experiences of his professional life. In a press release revealing the partnership, Cameron said “For years I’ve been a fan (of Cirque Du Soleil), both of their celebration of human physical performance and for their wild imagination in the designs of characters, costumes, music and unparalleled theatrical staging.”
Adamson added that he’s also been inspired by Cirque Du Soleill’s “balance between beauty and danger, art and technology and gravity and unbelievable physical ability. Bringing that to the screen in 3D (is)…a chance to offer the audience an entirely new experience.”
