Cameron Crowe, who is attached to direct the upcoming movie ‘We Bought A Zoo,’ has already completed the soundtrack, even though he hasn’t shot a single scene for the film yet, Slashfilm.com is reporting. Matt Damon, who is starring in the movie, told MTV he received the soundtrack along with his copy of the script. He added that it heavily features Eddie Vedder and Neil Young.

‘We Bought A Zoo’ begins filming next month, and also stars Scarlett Johansson, Thomas Hayden Church, Elle Fanning, Patrick Fugi and Angus McFadyen. The movie, which is set to be released on December 23, 2011, is based on one of Benjamin Mee’s memoirs. The book follows how Mee and his family decided to buy and run a zoo after his wife died.

Rumors are circulating that Crowe included some of Vedder and Young’s most serious, thought-provoking political songs to help the actors understand the tone he’s trying to go with for the movie. Crowe has had success linking songs to his movies in the past, notably Elton John’s Tiny Dancer for his hit 2000 film ‘Almost Famous.’
