Anthony Hopkins is currently in talks to portray famed movie director Alfred Hitchcock in the upcoming film ‘Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho,’ Cinemablend.com is reporting. Director Sacha Gervasi, who is remembered for his documentary ‘Anvil! The Story of Anvil,’ is rumored to be helming the movie, which is based on the 1998 non-fiction book of the same name. But Hopkins hasn’t been officially cast yet, as he’s working out the details with Montecito, the studio behind the movie.

The movie, much like the book, will chronicle Hitchcock’s life as he made his most well-known film, which no studio wanted to finance. It will also detail the director’s life with his wife Alma Reville. But the script hasn’t been finalized yet, as Montecito is still working out the details.

Hopkins was rumored to play Hitchcock once before, in a 2007 project titled ‘Alfred Hitchcock Presents.’ The movie was set to be directed by Ryan Murphy, but the project was never finalized.
