Nathan Lane will be reprising his role of Cameron and Mitchell’s gay friend Pepper on a spring episode of ‘Modern Family,’ TVGuide.com is reporting. The Emmy Award-winning show’s executive producer Steve Levitan confirmed the news at the recent Producers Guild Awards (PGA), where the show won Best Comedy Series.

Lane first appeared as Cameron (played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Mitchell’s (portrayed by Eric Stonestreet) flamboyant party host friend in a fall episode. When he returns to the series, “Mitch and Cam go out for a boys night with Pepper and a bunch of their other gay friends,” Levitan told TV Guide at the PGA ceremony. But unexpectedly, “Jay (played by Ed O’Neill) stumbles in to the party. We’re having a lot of fun playing with (Nathan) and this will be a very funny use of him,” Levitan also said.  While he hyped up the episode, the exact air date hasn’t been reported yet.
