“Twilight” star Kristen Stewart is one of the many actresses listed to try out for the role of  Snow White for the film “Snow White and the Huntsman”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As mentioned in one of the latest Shockya posts, Charlize Theron is expected to play the Evil Queen. Also in discussion to be in the film is Viggo Mortensen; he is in negotiations to play the Huntsman.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stewart’s name has been in rotation ever since Universal has acquired the project, including when the studio received various screen tests from actresses such as Felicity Jones, Riley Keough, Alicia Vikander and, most recently, Emily Browning. According to site, Stewart has reached a point in her acting career where screen tests aren’t required.

This fact alone about Stewart might be why the studio is very keen on getting the actress for the role; her star status, as well as her built-in “Twilight” fanbase, will help propel the movie, at least monetarily. However, since “Twilight”, Stewart has done mostly independent films, her most recent one being “Welcome to the Rileys”.

“Snow White and the Huntsman,” directed by Rupert Sanders, with the screenplay written by Evan Daugherty, will be released December 21, 2012.
