Now that Henry Cavill has been named as the title character superhero in the ‘Superman’ reboot, rumors are circulating that director Zack Snyder is looking to include General Zod in the script. Snyder and producer Christopher Nolan are currently looking at Viggo Mortensen to portray the series’ major villain, www.collider.com is reporting.

Zod is the leader of the military forces on Krypton, and knew Superman’s biological father. Ursa, who serves as Zod’s co-conspirator and accomplice, and Non, his associate, are also rumored to be part of the film. However, Snyder and Nolan haven’t cast those roles yet either.

The news of Snyder’s interest in casting Mortensen as Zod comes after he entered talks to play the title role of the huntsman in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman.’ If he doesn’t secure the role, he will be available to shoot ‘Superman,’ which begins filming later this year.
