Whether you want to see it or not, the “Shrek” spinoff “Puss in Boots” now has a trailer and a poster. The trailer, which can be viewed on iTunes as well as at the bottom of this article, features Antonio Banderas’ character Puss in Boots being cool and whatnot. The trailer shows that the film is planted very firmly in the pop-culture-ridden “Shrek” universe, what with Pitbull’s “I Know You Want Me”. Basically, if you don’t like the “Shrek” ideology, then you don’t need to see this trailer. But if you love “Shrek”, then you might like this trailer.

The poster, like the trailer, shows the titular character’s suave “Zorro” style; at the bottom of the poster, the words “Pray for Mercy” are written, in order to show just how  fantastic Puss in Boots is supposed to be.

The film, which serves as a prequel to Puss in Boots’ life before meeting Shrek, will also star Selma Hayek as love-interest cat Kitty, Zach Galifianakis as Humpty Dumpty, Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris. The plot involves Puss in Boots teaming up with Humpty Dumpty and Kitty in order to steal the goose that lays the Golden Eggs.

The film is expected to be out in theaters by November 4, 2011.
