Trent Reznor has confirmed via his Nine Inch Nails message boards that he has decided not to join the upcoming movie ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ after all, reelzchannel.com is reporting. The recent Academy Award-winning composer had previously admitted on the message boards that director Timur Bekmambetov had convinced him to not only write the music for the adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith novel, but to appear in a cameo role as well.

Reznor had originally posted that the news was supposed to be a surprise until closer to the movie’s planned June 22, 2012 release date. But he later changed his mind about joining the movie, and posted the message stating his departure from the film. In the latter post, Reznor said “Don’t believe everything you read…when the news mysteriously leaked out about my involvement I hadn’t made up my mind completely…I felt the need to say something earlier because my inbox was filling up with speculation, and at that moment I thought I would be doing it.”

But Reznor added that he still wishes Bekmambetov luck on ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which begins filming this month. The movie stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Dominic Cooper and Benjamin Walker as Lincoln.
