Shia LaBeouf has signed on to play Ignatius “Ig” Perrish in the movie adaptation of the Joe Hill novel Horns, www.reelzchannel.com is reporting. Keith Bunin is set to write the script, which will follow Ig, a 26-year-old who wakes up the morning after the first anniversary of his girlfriend’s murder to find that he’s growing horns from his head.

‘Horns’ will follow Ig’s investigation into his girlfriend’s unsolved murder and its connection to his cursed fate. He’s determined to exonerate himself, as he’s the only suspect in the murder. Ig will use the new power that came with his horns, the ability to manipulate people and to hear their darkest secrets to help him solve the murder.

Mandalay Pictures optioned the movie rights in 2009 before the book was released. Hill, who is the son of Stephen King, will executive produce ‘Horns,’ and Mandalay’s Peter Guber and Cathy Schulman are producing.
