Will Arnett and Ricky Gervais have both been confirmed to appear on this season’s finale of ‘The Office,’ http://insidetv.ew.com is reporting. The May 19 finale will be the first time Arnett will guest-star on the hit NBC comedy series.

Gervias will reprise his role of manager David Brent from the original U.K. ‘Office’ for the second time this season on the American remake. The comedian let the news slip while he was doing an interview with BBC Radio 1 earlier this month.

Arnett, who is most well-known for his roles on ‘Arrested Development’ and ’30 Rock,’ is a contender to replace Steve Carell on ‘The Office.’ His recent comedy series, FOX’s ‘Running Wilde,’ was canceled in November 2010 after just 13 episodes were produced. Gervais publicly endorsed Arnett to replace Carell last month on his personal blog, saying he recommended him to NBC executives during a meeting.

There’s no word yet what the finale will feature, as it’s still being written. But in the next new episode, airing on March 24, Carell’s character Michael Scott will have a garage sale in Dunder Mifflin’s warehouse.
