According to The Hollywood Reporter, Steve Carell and Keira Knightley are in talks to star in a comedy called, “Seeking a Friend at the End of the World”.

The film chronicles the journey a man (Carell) takes to find a meaningful relationship amid the end times of the world. It’s wise to assume Knightley would be the person Carell’s character finds a connection with.

The film is written by Lorene Scafaria, part of the all-female writing group known as the Fempire, which also includes Diablo Cody, Liz Meriwhether, and Dana Fox.

The film’s principal photography will start in Los Angeles this May.

What do you think about this film? Even though it’s a comedy, hopefully some won’t be too freaked out by the premise of the film, since 2012 is rumored by New-Agers to be THE END. (As an aside, according to actual descendants of Mayans, it’s just a date that got blown out of proportion; it’s just the end of the calendar, like how our calendar ends with December 31, but the mystique behind 2012 is something Hollywood only has a few more months to milk for all its worth. And weren’t 2000, 6/6/06, etc., supposed to be THE END?)

In any case, give your “yay” or “nay” comments below.
