According to ScreenCrave, “The Dark Knight Rises” is set to start filming in Pittsburgh instead of Chicago, where most of the filming for “The Dark Knight” took place. Personally, I’m going to miss Chicago…

Anyways, Christopher Nolan has said this about filming in Pittsburgh: “Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. We have been able to find everything we were looking for here, and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of ‘Batman’.”

According to the article, this move to Pittsburgh is a result of tax credits filmmakers can receive for filming within the States.

And, to be honest, Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. Just take a look at some of these pictures! Even though I personally have an affinity for Chicago, it’s not like I’ll watch the movie and be able to tell the city location has changed. Pittsburgh has enough tall buildings, views of the river (similar to Chicago, which is between the Mississippi River watershed and the Great Lakes), and hustling, bustling city life to make it a great Gotham City.

What do you think of this news? Are you sad to see Chicago lose out to Pittsburgh? Do you want to visit Pittsburgh now that “Batman” is being filmed there? Sound off below.
