“Planet of the Apes” fans, listen up! If you’re antsy about the new reboot “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”, check out an exclusive live look at “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” this Wednesday, April 13, at 2:30PM PDT. The footage also includes a special behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Caesar (Andy Serkis) and the apes.

According to the press release, WETA Digital, the Academy Award winning visual effects team behind films like Avatar and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, will host a livestream event on the official Facebook fan page for Avatar from their headquarters in Wellington, New Zealand. They will give viewers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at their work on “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”, which includes how they have created realistic apes as opposed to the actors in ape suits in previous “Apes” films.

Before the event, though, be sure to check out a five-second preview of “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” on the film’s official Facebook page. The livestream event includes a fan question and answer session, so post your questions to the official Apes Facebook wall for a chance to have them answered.

“Rise of the Planet of the Apes” opens in theaters August 5, 2011, starring James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo and, as mentioned above, Andy Serkis as Caesar.
